I gave this some thought and decided that although it goes against all my principals as a home baker I purchased a cupcake packet mix thinking that Missy could do most of it on her own without too much
I weighed up the couple of pounds expense and decided it could be justified as it would probably have cost more than that for character cake toppers (if you could find them solus anyway) and it was quite nice for Missy to choose the cakes she wanted to make in the shop with some kind of idea of how they might turn out. Needless to say she had been brainwashed enough to opt for the Peppa Pig Muddy Puddle Cupcakes so home with us they came.
So after washing her hands Missy set to work, first she laid out the paper cases in the muffin tin
Then she put the dry cake mix into a bowl, added the water
and the egg
and whisked her little Baby Gap socks off
When it was the correct consistency or 'gloopy' (Missy's new favourite word) she dolloped some into each paper case
and wished them well as they went into the oven. A short time later out they came and she insisted on blowing them until they were cool enough to ice
and ice them she did
Then it came time to stick on the Peppa Pig toppers
And finally the best part of all
I think she is fast developing my addiction for cake making (let's face it how could she not?) as we have already purchased a Disney Princess cupcake mix for her to try this week.
